Acid Black Cherry wins poll for “sexiest lyrics”

ABC’s second single “Black Cherry” has won a poll for the song with “lyrics that are too sexy.”

From tokyohive (see link for the full top 10):

Mobile site JOYSOUND recently conducted a poll asking its users what song they thought contained lyrics that are too sexy.

Coming in first place is Acid Black Cherry’s “Black Cherry“, thanks to its  provocative lyrics expressing a woman’s desires. Voters commented, “When I heard sexy, this was the only song I could think of. Or rather… it’s completely erotic!” and “From a woman’s point of view, I can really sympathize with the lyrics. It’s a very painful song.

If you take a look at the lyrics, it’s not all that difficult to see just why it won first place. Here’s a selection of an English translation, courtesy of JpopAsia:

Don’t stop, kiss me! I can’t be apart from you…
Don’t stop, kiss me! But, I can’t forgive you…
Ah~ Come inside me!
Black Cherry… make love to me, give yourself to me
Leave your seed inside of me!
It’s all right if you don’t love me… since I don’t love you
Make me wretched like this!
Black Cherry, give it to me…
Black Cherry, give me more…

Yasu sure didn’t bother much with metaphors in that one!

Acid Black Cherry have a new single

Acid Black Cherry are going to release a new single on September 21st. The single is called “Pistol”, and will include a B-side called “Ai wo Kataru Yori Kuchizuke wo Kawasou”, a cover from WANDS’ 1993 hit song, and the limited edition will come with a DVD containing the PV of the title track and a special 15 minutes off-shot. More info including the single’s cover to be unveiled soon.

The band will also perform a free live show on July 23rd as a part of their ABC Dream CUP 2011 tour. Only 40,000 people will be allowed to attend the show, while others can watch it live from USTREAM and GyaO!. The show starts at 16:00 local time, check your world clock for time in your area.

†яi¢к is on Facebook and some details about Acid Black Cherry’s upcoming single

Makoto’s new band, †яi¢к is so active recently, and they’ve just made another awesome trick by opening their official Facebook page. It’s over here.

They also recently appeared on Nico Nico Live twice, doing some kind of talk show talking about various things. The first edition can be watched here, while the second edition, is I believed, gonna be uploaded in the next few days.

Also, as a reminder, Acid Black Cherry’s new single, Shoujo no Inori III is going on sale next Wednesday. You can get the regular edition here, or pay more for the limited edition and you’ll get a B2-sized poster. The title track is a remade version of a song from their first album, Black List. The B-side is called Joukyou Monogatari, a cover version of Sharam Q’s 1994 single. And here’s the PV. Gotta say, it’s cool.

Acid Black Cherry to cover SIAM SHADE’s famous song

This isn’t so new, but got me excited, so why not post it here? 😉

Yuki’s other band, Acid Black Cherry is going to participate on SIAM SHADE Tribute Album, on sale at 27th October. The song they are going to cover? It’s called 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou, the one used as the opening theme of Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X anime. I think most of anime freaks (like myself) can never forget that song, can’t imagine how proud it is to be given the chance to cover it in the band’s tribute album. Let’s be happy for Yuki, Yasu and the others!! Care to buy? It’s right here.

Also, here’s the track list:

1. Don’t Tell Lies – Sebastian Bach
2. GET OUT – Nik Frost (The Bangkok Five)
3. 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou (Alt Ver.) – Jani Lane
4. Setsunasa Yori mo Tooku e (Alt Ver.) – Richie Kotzen
5. LOVE – Eric Martin
6. Life (Alt Ver.) – John Corabi
7. GET A LIFE – Mike Vescera
8. Kumori Nochi Hare – Mark Slaughter
9. Dreams – Mike Ruocco (Cinder Road)
10. Triptych (Alt Ver.) – George Lynch
11. 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou – Acid Black Cherry

Wow, almost all are western old timers!!

If you’re kinda blurry about the song, here it is:

7 days before the Thai concert!!

Atsuro blog translation 2010/08/05

The Minori Chihara SUMMER CAMP 2 rehearsals are nearing their end!

This week at last, the 7th and 8th are drawing near~.
It’s the first time I’m visiting the Kawaguchiko Stellar Theater~.
Seems like you can see Mt. Fuji from there☆
I’m worried about the weather. Especially since it’s so close to the mountain…
We can play through all the songs perfectly now!
That’s a bit of a relief…

I think I’ll thoroughly enjoy this two-day festival♪

A story from a while back when we went to Okinawa to film a PV.
As we were searching for a Seven Bank which is where I always withdraw money, we found that there are no 7-Elevens in Okinawa!
Did you know that?
There were just loads of Lawsons and Famimas.
Be careful about that, everyone!

You can view Minori Chihara’s PV for “Freedom Dreamer” on YouTube, so definitely check it out.
I’m the second guy. (Note: that’s real helpful, Atsuro!)
It placed 9th on the Oricon chart. Congratulations~!
That’s pretty awesome as it it didn’t even have a tie-in with anything☆
I was let to take part in the guitar recordings, too, so be sure to listen to the CD as well!

With that, I’m off to rehearsal today, too♪

Here’s said PV featuring Atsuro. He’s the second guy. *chuckle* I assume he’ll also play in any and all TV performances of the song. For now, you can see him in the Music Japan 2010/08/01 episode.

While we’re on the subject of second guys, Yuki can be seen in the PV for Acid Black Cherry‘s upcoming single Re:birth. Here’s the CM:

By the way, there’s reason to believe that Yuki’s other band Rayflower is coming out with their yet-unnamed debut album on September 15th. All their stuff I’ve heard sounds pretty rockin’ so I personally can’t wait! Rayflower just came out with their second single two days ago and while there’s no PV to be found on YouTube yet, there are audio samples of both tracks on the single. The ever-present delicious boys’ love imagery they’re stuck on top of ought to come as a welcome bonus.

PS. Less than 20 days until the first reunion concert!

TV appearance for Aucifer!

For the first time in who knows how long, Aucifer are set to make a TV appearance on TBS network’s 「BLITZ INDEX」 on June 11th! No info as to what sort of appearance we should expect but seeing that it’s a 10-minute slab of airtime, we could possibly be looking at a little talk and — fingers crossed! — a live performance. You can never have too many performances of “Datenshi BLUE.”

If you’re desperate to try and catch this live, you might have luck with KeyHoleTV or freshverse for example, but the quality is going to be pretty lousy. The best livestream I’ve found is the gundam.eu one but unfortunately it appears to be down for the foreseeable future. If there’s any goodness in the world, someone will later put up a good quality version on the ol’ Tube or elsewhere.

In any case, for those of you with access to Japanese TV, Aucifer will be on air this Friday – Saturday night at 26:55 – 27:04 Japan time, which of course translates to Saturday 02:55AM – 03:04AM.

In other news, Aucifer are to be featured in the upcoming August issue of the Arena 37°C SPECIAL magazine which goes on sale on June 27th. Meanwhile, you can also catch Rayflower in the June issue of the standard edition of Arena 37°C which is already on sale.

By the way, did any of you hear the Rayflower single? Just as I expected, it’s pretty damned good! The riffs on “Uragiri” are gnarly and I kind of dig the vocals. And hey, while we’re on the subject of Yuki, Acid Black Cherry are releasing their second cover album “Recreation 2” on June 30th. Apparently they’re also releasing their next single “Re:birth” in the near future. No release date on that one yet.

With less than three months to go, we’re getting closer to the main event here, folks. As a sign of that, there’s several of these little guys starting to pop up on Yahoo.jp auctions:

Rayflower, Yuki’s new band

Wow! Looking pretty emo there huh, Yuki?

As if the Aucifer news wasn’t good enough, it was also recently reported that Yuki is in a new band called Rayflower who have a double A-side single titled “Uragiri no Nai Sekai Made / Aoi Ito” coming out on May 26th. Their site can be found at rayflower.jp. Do check out this Tokyograph article for more info. What the article doesn’t mention though is that the anime in question is of the “boys love” variety. Just thought I’d mention that. There’s a preview out that doesn’t sound half bad!

Pretty excited about this, actually, as Yuki’s been my favorite member to follow after Aucifer. While I’m not the biggest fan of DUSTAR-3 I can’t lie about occasionally bursting into “Mckeekee” on my guitar every once in a while, and Acid Black Cherry, yasu’s (Janne da Arc) solo project where Yuki plays support guitar, is just great. If you haven’t checked them out yet, what better time to do so than right now? Try not to mind the crossdressing at the start too much — unless that’s your thing, of course.

Speaking of DUSTAR-3, they have a new album called TRIKE coming out on April 28th. Looking forward to hearing Yuki’s soloing! Oh, and this reminds me: if anyone wants to sponsor me with Yuki’s bitching custom ESP Lizard Special guitar, I’d be pretty happy about that.

On a completely unrelated note, I’d like to share a quick piece of Atsuro news. Well, it’s not so much news as it’s just “a quick Atsuro spotting“. Atsuro’s played guitar for several names that I’m a fan of (Hello! Project, Shokotan, etc.) but this is one I wasn’t aware of before. I was watching the Kouhaku 2003 show the other day and look who was playing guitar for aiko of all people:

I’m unsure if he’s featured on any of her recordings but it’s probably safe to assume he’s just played in her live band before. In any case, this is cool for me as I’ve been seriously getting into aiko lately. Another artist I’d highly recommend to anyone, by the way.

Thanks to GN-0015 for letting me know about Rayflower!
