Alternative ways to order new Λucifer DVD + photobook

As you know, ordering Aucifer’s new DVD through their online store can be troublesome if you’re not a resident of Japan. So here’s two alternatives for those of you who still haven’t bought their copy due to that difficulty. First off, one especially suitable for Thais… jayvee passed on this alternative to me. Thanks for the heads up!

Note that I’m not affiliated with Makoto-Thailand.com (who are behind this offer) and I can’t take any responsibility if you decide to order through them. Also, a point of inconvenience for some might be that they seem to only accept Western Union as form of payment. I have to add that the price for non-Thais, too, at 6000THB (~US$200) could be a bit much for some…

This could be an alright way for Thais to order the set, but note that there might be better alternatives out there (with other payment options, too, such as Paypal) for fans in other countries. One service I know of, for example, is Tenso.com. Read more about their service on Tofugu. If you want to calculate approximately how much it’d cost to order the set to your country with Tenso, you can do a rough calculation here. Again, I’ve personally not used Tenso and with Googling, there’s a chance you might find a service even cheaper than them that will do the job. However, Tenso does seem pretty trustworthy to me.

And as for when we can actually expect that DVD of this performance? Still no release date unfortunately, but it’s getting closer as you can read from these translations of Towa’s blog and Atsuro’s twitter:

Well, though I say it’s done, there’s actually still the packaging and so on to be done before it’s finished, so it’ll take a while more…

†яi¢к’s first live show announced

As announced in his official website, Makoto’s new band, †яi¢к, will perform their first live performance soon. The show will be held at 11th December 2010, at an event called Peace Maker Super Festival in Shibuya. The event will also feature Aggressive Dogs, Kaikigesshoku, Loudness, Before Christ Butterfly and lots of other bands.

The line-up seems to be pretty heavy, with the likes of Kaikigesshoku and Loudness are in, so we can say that Makoto is officially a metalist now XD

Rayflower’s Keiichi Miyako back in action

Good news for all the Rayflower fans!

From tokyograph:

Keiichi Miyako (39), the keyboardist of rock bands SOPHIA and Rayflower, officially resumed activities with a public appearance on Sunday. Miyako has been on break since April after he announced that he needed to undergo medical treatment for lymphoma.

The event on Sunday was a talk session to celebrate the release of Rayflower’s mini-album “Flower Language” (released on September 15). Miyako thanked his fans, saying that their words encouraged him while he has been fighting the lymphoma. However, he lightheartedly acknowledged that he was wearing a hat to completely cover his head, as the treatment has resulted in hair loss.

Fortunately, Miyako mentioned that the lymphoma has progressed slowly, so with the treatment, he has recovered to the point that the illness does not hinder his daily life. He also mentioned that his wife – singer Ruriko Kubo (41) – and their two children are feeling relieved now. He finished receiving treatment in September, so he returned to Osaka on October 3 to resume his music activities. He is expected to continue visiting the hospital two to three times a month for the next two years in order to prevent a relapse.

Say goodbye to a piece of Λucifer history

Shinsaibashi CLUB QUATTRO in Osaka, the venue where Λucifer played their first ever show in 1999 — as well as their first reunion show in August 2010 — is closing down its doors for good.

From tokyohive:

To the disappointment of music fans everywhere, Osaka’s Shinsaibashi live house CLUB QUATTRO, will be closing its doors in September of 2011.

The decision to close the live house came from the condition of the buildings in the area.  The main building of the Shinsaibashi district, Shinsaibashi PARCO, was built back in 1972 and has been slowly aging and wearing down over the past four decades.  The owners of the building have been considering tearing it down and rebuilding, and with the leases expiring in September of 2011 the timing finally seemed right.

Shinsaibashi’s CLUB QUATTRO was one of the three original QUATTRO clubs to open across Japan in May of 1991.  Since then, the intimate 650 person club has been host to a variety of Japanese and International artists and has become a token gateway for new artists expanding into the national music scene.

PS. New poll on the right! Check it, and notice that you can add your own poll choice.

Acid Black Cherry to cover SIAM SHADE’s famous song

This isn’t so new, but got me excited, so why not post it here? 😉

Yuki’s other band, Acid Black Cherry is going to participate on SIAM SHADE Tribute Album, on sale at 27th October. The song they are going to cover? It’s called 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou, the one used as the opening theme of Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X anime. I think most of anime freaks (like myself) can never forget that song, can’t imagine how proud it is to be given the chance to cover it in the band’s tribute album. Let’s be happy for Yuki, Yasu and the others!! Care to buy? It’s right here.

Also, here’s the track list:

1. Don’t Tell Lies – Sebastian Bach
2. GET OUT – Nik Frost (The Bangkok Five)
3. 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou (Alt Ver.) – Jani Lane
4. Setsunasa Yori mo Tooku e (Alt Ver.) – Richie Kotzen
5. LOVE – Eric Martin
6. Life (Alt Ver.) – John Corabi
7. GET A LIFE – Mike Vescera
8. Kumori Nochi Hare – Mark Slaughter
9. Dreams – Mike Ruocco (Cinder Road)
10. Triptych (Alt Ver.) – George Lynch
11. 1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou – Acid Black Cherry

Wow, almost all are western old timers!!

If you’re kinda blurry about the song, here it is:

7 days before the Thai concert!!

Makoto’s stage play and some more pictures of him at J-Channel office

Makoto has confirmed that he will be the main character of a stage play called “Urizun no Kaze”, which will be held from 26th to 31st October. He will be paired with Misato Hirata, a 31-year-old gravure idol who portrayed Konomi Amagai in the movie Ultraman Mebius & Ultraman Brothers in 2006 (click here for her pic). More info about the play here.

Also, as stated before, Makoto was in J-Channel office last week to promote Λucifer’s upcoming Thai concert. He stated that he’s going to learn about acting, so we can all look forward for some dramas from him!! Here’s some picture of him at the office:

More pictures here.

Rayflower album out & TRICK debut

Rayflower, Yuki’s new band, is releasing their first mini album today, it’s called “Flower Language”. The album is released in regular and limited editions (as usual, the regular one has only a CD and the limited one has a bonus DVD). Here’s the tracklist:
1. Runaway Brain
2. Inishie
3. Shinjitsu no Mori no Naka de
4. Social Network Generation
5. Uragiri no Nai Sekai Made
6. Hanataba -From Rose With Love-

The DVD from the limited edtion contains (only…) one video, which is the PV of Uragiri no Nai Sekai Made.

And if you were questioning about what happened to their official website (yeah, it has been down for weeks), actually they are moved into a new website, which in my opinion is cooler than the old one.

Also, just as a reminder that Makoto’s new band, TRICK is also debuting today. Like it was reported before, they are participating in SEIKIMA-II tribute album, which is out today. But the strange thing is, the full line-up of the band is yet to be revealed, with SHUSE, the bassist of Acid Black Cherry is the only other member revealed other than Makoto himself. I think we really got to have the CD first to discover the full line-up.

And for all you fanboys/girls, my friend who lives in Thailand went to J-Channel Office last week to meet Makoto in person!! Yes, he was there to promote their upcoming (and sadly, the last) show. She took a video, which was very short but I think kinda good enough. Here’s a picture signed by him for her:Oh man… if I was her, I’d go and rape him XD

The Thai show is just 10 days away, maybe there are still tickets available, so try your best to be there!!

In addition as something that is sure to be excellent news for those who can’t attend, Aucifer will be releasing a live DVD of their September 1st live at Akasaka BLITZ in Tokyo. As the description for it eloquently puts it:

We’ll be back!” — the promise Makoto made at the Kokusai Forum is finally being fulfilled.”

The DVD is tentatively titled “Λucifer 10th Anniversary LIVE” and is supposed to be around 120 minutes in length. No release date has been set yet.

If that’s not enough to quench your Aucifer thirst, they’re also releasing a photobook! It’s planned to have 56 pages containing interviews with members as well as various pictures of Aucifer before the tour, during rehearsals and in concert, as well as full coverage of their upcoming live in Bangkok, Thailand. Like the DVD, the photobook’s release date is to be announced later.

They’ve set up an online shop where the DVD is priced at ¥6,800, the photobook at ¥3,800 or a set of both at ¥10,000. The DVD has a limited edition jacket that will only be available to those who reserve their copy by 9/30 — reservations from 10/1 onwards will get the regular edition. Unfortunately, as is often the case, those outside of Japan won’t be able to purchase from the store.

Time to message those Japanese friends of yours, or in the worst case scenario use some service in Japan to mail you the goods!
