First of all, I’d like to apologize for the inactivity of myself and co-blogger Henkka for the last several weeks. We’ve been busy with life and work (goddamn it I hate my job!!).
Now down to business…
After a long wait, Makoto’s only band other than Λucifer, † яi ¢ к is finally releasing their first single. It will be called Phenomena, with the release date is set at March 17th 2012. You can pre-order it over here, and watch the short version of the PV right here. Gotta say, it’s a pretty cool song. The long wait sure paid off. Here’s the tracklisting:
1. Phenomena
2. Artra
3. ADAM
4. Phenomena (Instrumental)
5. Artra (Instrumental)
6. ADAM (Instrumental)
They are set for their first one-man live tour with (only) two shows in Osaka (03/17) and Meguro (03/20) to promote the single.
They have also changed their line-up with drummer Kei Kashiyama decided to leave after failing to recover from his illness and replaced with TERO (left), the former drummer of VIDOLL. Another new member is guitarist Shintaro Mizuno, or SIN, a young musician (24) who joined them after being rapidly involved in live shows.
Mmm, don’t really know what to make of the song with such a short sample. Sounds quite alright, I guess, but I’ll spare my full judgement until I hear it in full. So far so good, though.
Everything sounds great from that short sample, there is no part that I don’t like, and the girl is quite hot. Makoto’s voice is all fine, doesn’t sound dry like his “flair” album. I can easily digest their music, isn’t too heavy or “technical” to listen to.
You know, I did think his voice sounded better than on “flair” like you said, too. I couldn’t be sure with just the little sample alone though. It does feel like he’s improved, though.
Not sure if “improved” is the right word. I mean he was really good during his early Λucifer days, his voiced changed during their final months, and hit rock bottom in “flair” – that’s the way I see it. He’s just “recovering”, maybe. I’ve been wondering what was going on to his voice, too many beer? Too much smoking? Changing his music style?
Right, “recovering” would be the word. When I said “improved”, I meant improved since “flair”. I agree with you in that his voice deteriorated after Λucifer. Lack of practice maybe?
That is possible, but I heard that he is a HEAVY smoker, so maybe that’s why.
AYABIE is going to do a cover of Datenshi BLUE in the V.A. album “Counteraction ―V-Rock covered Visual Anime songs Compilation―” <3
