『According to rumors, he’s a 9mm’er (lie)』
The 9mm Day “Chaos no Hyakunen vol.5” ended without incident.
In the staff blogs uploaded yesterday, it suddenly warped from the signboard being finished to the backstage when the show was already over. That leaves a definite hole in time, so let’s shed some light on the events that took place for those of you who weren’t able to attend. I’ll write down my memories of yesterday.
Firstly, the secret guests in question were the comedians Dienoji, who brought along with them the young comedians Genkis, Penguin Nut and Long Hair!! I’m sure you all know them, right. Since it’s a big festival, we had to have everyone laughing, right! Us in the band didn’t get to say a thing! Nhahaha. Yes, we got them to do our intros as well as all the MC’s between songs. Ah man, it was really, really funny all the way through. Our show supposedly lasted close to two hours, but it felt like five minutes to us. It’s been a while since we’d played a live house of that size, too, so that aspect of it was fun, too. The audience was really close. All the venues on the tour, too, are like that. Very good, very good.
The comedians joined our wrap-up party, all high and mighty. You take your eyes off them for a second and they start telling jokes. Hey, wasn’t this supposed to be 9mm’s party? There was even a beach parasol at La.mama (the owner’s hobby apparently). After receiving lots of alcohol from several sources (shochu, nihonshu, wine, everything), we drank all of them in succession yesterday. Thanks to everyone who joined us in getting smashed.
Today I slept until afternoon and in the evening I received seitai, acupuncture, massage, the full course. There’s nothing more to say. Starting from tomorrow, we’ll be again heading towards our next show. I’ve been writing this while listening to the new album from SOIL, the band we’re playing with on the 17th. I can’t wait. Chomo’s going to be there, too, so there’s no doubt of it being a good show.

「About 9/9」
Tomorrow it’s 9mm Day at Shibuya La.mama.
A little bit about that.

・ There will be a lot of people at the venue.
・ Go crazy, just watch out for injuries.
・ Cell phones, spectacles, shoes, wallets, house keys, anything that’d inconvenience you if you dropped, lost or broke them, keep them close to you and please note that you bring them on your own risk. (La.mama doesn’t have lockers, so it might be a good idea to leave them somewhere else nearby.)
・ If you don’t feel physically good, call out to the people around you or the venue staff.

That’s it for all the important points.
Shibuya La.mama is one of those special places with lots of memories for 9mm. Of course, we plan on making tomorrow night one of those memories, too. We in 9mm want to involve all of you into what makes playing in this band so fun. That’s how we feel. It’s fine if you leave it all to us, and it’s also fine if you want to resist. Let’s just have fun.
If you think on it a little, I’m sure you’ll figure out what you need to do in order to be able to do just that. For me, I’ve eaten well tonight, so my preparations for tomorrow are perfect.

「Do you remember」
Before I realized it, it’s already September!
I almost missed 9mm’s month. Moreover, 9mm Day is fast approaching. That means it’s around 50 days until Akatsuki no Yaon, with the album coming out three days before that. As for other long-awaited things coming up this month, we have a show alongside SOIL&PIMP SESSIONS and we’re going to Sendai. We still keep going even with the summer festivals behind us. By all means, do come and see us live. It sure is still hot though! Longing for that cool autumn weather, I opened my window only to be greeted by the polyrhythmic sounds of insects. My deepest sympathies for those who have suffer in this lingering summer heat.

SLS2008!
Before the performance, it was rainy and the sun was just randomly peeking from behind the clouds sometimes, but during their performance, Mt. Fuji ↑ was nice and visible. It was a great show!!!
And then… after the performance, they got to take a ride on the balloon!

It’s been a while since the last blog update.
We’ve been busy with a flood of festivals and carnivals(?) so we hope you’ll excuse us.
We made our way to SLS the day before our performance and got to enjoy barbecue!

This is Taki.
We’re in Kagawa now. The udon here’s so good, it feels like heaven. The people of Kagawa must be happy, getting to eat udon this delicious. Starting with the one today, we three shows on consecutive days. Kagawa, Nagasaki, Nagoya. We have a lot of commuting ahead of us. It’s an intense schedule but eating this much udon, I’ve gained weight. That always happens with festivals.
Our show’s starting now. I’ll do my best.
