    『EDGE OF CHAOS』

    Hello, it’s Kazu Nakamura.

Yesterday we took part in WRENCH’s show at Shinjuku LOFT. I’ve wanted to play with them since way before, but my dream has now come true. WRENCH is a band who I personally really admire, so getting to play with them, I was unusually nervous before going on stage.

WRENCH’s show was incredible! True chaos indeed. Combined with the visuals projected on the screen, it was a show that really sucks one in. Takuro feels the same way with me on this, but their albums, too, are absurdly cool.

And so, while still feeling the excitement from yesterday, we had a bunch of interviews today, one of them for a magazine that’ll surprise you.

Lately I can’t hear the cicadas anymore. I guess that means autumn is nearly here.

    This was Kazu Nakamura.

    『Yeaaah!』

    Good evening. This is Kazu.

Tonight we’re having a “dress rehearsal” for 9/9 at Shibuya La.mama. What that entails is playing through the entire set for the night. Right now I’m having a break and the one playing bass in the mean time is manager Yamada. He loves the bass.

It seems this year is La.mama’s 25th anniversary. The 25th anniversary commemorative publication features a comment from us, too. Definitely have a look at it. Also, La.mama still has our Phantomime poster up. Yep.

Alright, my break is over. This was Kazu.

    Lipovitan HEY!』

    Hello, it’s Kazu.
We’ve made our way over to SWEET LOVE SHOWER 2007 now.
Pictured here are my friends Kamijo and Taki. Everyone loves food. Taki loves mozuku.

Lake Yamanaka’s really foggy right now. It’s too bad we can’t see Mt. Fuji.
The venue’s pretty cold, so those coming should wear something warm.

It’d be nice if it cleared up tomorrow. This was Kazu.

    『Holiday』

    Good evening. It’s Kazuhiko.

For the first time in a while, I had a day off today. 9mm is feeling pretty exhausted after the heavy schedule of these last few days. There’s one who caught a cold, one who got tendonitis, one who got tendonitis right after the first person… various things. And with that, today was a vacation day whose purpose was to enable us to continue our daily musical life in a meaningful way as well as to bring the band back to full health.

To cure my fatigue after yesterday’s show and give my head, lower back and joints a break, I was doing repairs on my instruments, watching live videos from way back, reading books and eating ramen, making it actually a pretty worthwhile day off. From tomorrow, I’ll again do my best without overdoing it.

I wonder what the others did today.

It’s hot so I want autumn to come fast.
When autumn comes… when autumn comes, our new CD is coming out.
Ah, I can’t wait. Not that it’s done yet, though!

Oh, and today was 9mm producer Junji Ijiwatari’s birthday.
    Congratulations to him.

    Well then, good night.

    『Hot hot.』

Hello, it’s been a really long time. This is Kazu. I’m doing great.

Now then, we’ve updated the picture on our homepage. It’s awesome cause there’s, like, this slugger.

It looks like the number of people collapsing from heatstroke are increasing throughout Japan. Let’s all take care to stay properly hydrated and eat Garigari-kun on the hot days.

It’ll be hot tomorrow, too. This was Kazu.

    『Yes.』

    Hello. It’s Kazuhiko.

Yesterday we were at the Fukuoka Kokusai Center to perform in an event called F-X. Fukuoka was really hot. You could say that for the temperature, but even more than that, I’m saying it for the reception we got from all of you. The event was pretty wild.
We were the opening act so our turn was over in a flash, but we stayed around to enjoy the show and drink. Everyone in the audience looked like they were having a lot of fun. Mr. Ken Yokoyama said in his MC that next year he’d love for the event to be an open-air show. It was really great weather and stuff so I, too, think it’d be pretty awesome if it did become an open-air event.

Right now we’re on our way back to Tokyo. Everyone’s fast asleep. I thought I’d take pictures of everyone’s sleeping faces and upload them here, but I’ll give up on the idea since it’d have disastrous repercussions.

It’s summer, huh. This was Kazuhiko.

    Tentori!』

    Hello, it’s Kazuhiko.
Please don’t say “what, it’s you again?

Now then everyone, do you know what “tentori uranai” are? This is something they’ve been selling from way before in small-time candy stores and such. How should I call it, it’s like this toy, or more like a fortune slip kind of thing.

These are great. The things written inside are completely nonsensical. Like, this is no longer a fortune, or anything really. Look at this surrealism (refer to picture¹). It’s too awesome. My stomach’s in a twist. Thanks to us having a good time with these in the studio, we all started our practice in a great mood. Lately small-time candy stores themselves aren’t really around that much, but it looks like they’re selling these at Village Vanguard and such. Those of you that are interested, go search for them please.

    With that, later.

¹Jumping into a hot bath, I was surprised. 3 points.

    『Weather Report』

    Hello, it’s Kazuhiko.

    Looks like the typhoon’s passed.
When the typhoon hits, we thought like fools that we’d take refuge in the studio and make songs all through the night. We really are fools.
At any rate, I’m really glad the tour’s over. It looked like the typhoon might interfere with the tour. Was dangerously close. I’m praying it won’t follow us to the festivals.

They said it’s finally clearing up tomorrow, right? I want to walk without an umbrella again after all this time. Alright, time to sleep. Good niiight.

    (That’s it for today’s blog.)

    『Radio, radio, radio』

    Hello, it’s Kazuhiko.

After rehearsal today, we headed over to NACK5 to appear as guests on the radio show of HIGH VOLTAGE with whom we toured on our The World Tour. It was a different kind of atmosphere compared to all the regional radio shows we did while on tour. It was really fun. It was our first time appearing on a show of bandmate comrades, so it was very easy to talk and everyone got in really high spirits. It seems it’ll air on July 13th.

Now then, I think I’ll maybe have some curry now. Good night.

    『Ka-Katsuo!』

    Hello, it’s Kazuhiko.
Pictured here is the drummer sucking in udon.
On our way from Matsuyama to Kouchi, though we saw a superb view stretching out in front of us on this mountain trail, why am I uploading this thing instead of that picture? Because I forgot to take out my camera for the view. Sigh.

Now then, today we played with one of Zankyo Records’ leading bands niumun. What’s more, we only heard about it just before rehearsal which was a surprise. We played with them on tour last year and became good friends, so we were super excited to play with them again. It was a mad party. Their show was as intense always. I was really surprised when they played a phrase from Talking Machine in the middle of one of their songs.

Also, this is completely unrelated, but I’ve noticed I have a habit of carrying a water bottle by having it stuffed in the back pocket of my jeans. I wonder if anyone else does this, too?

With that, we’ll be heading to Hiroshima tomorrow.
    Good night.
